CHILDREN'S HOPE TV

Children’s Hope TV is an alternative learning resource for children. This Internet Television site is a free resource designed so that all subject matter available can be used as a teaching tool or as a research facility for the children themselves.

As with all visual teaching tools, it gives children a greater understanding of the subject material. All the content is of a highest educational value and is provided by experts in every field.

This resource allows Youth Workers, Teachers & Parents introduce children to areas of interest through media technology (ICT), and we must remember that it is this technology that is our children’s future. To provide education through fun & technology will allow the children to develop their knowledge at their own pace in areas of interest to them, allowing children everywhere to view the material creating a friendly & level learning zone. This free resource is a vital asset to schools and groups in disadvantaged areas.

• Children's Hope Internet Television provided a platform for children to develop their knowledge through Fun & Technology
• All subject material is recognized by the Primary School Curriculum
• Target Audience children aged 6 years to 12 years old
• Visual & Audio will assist children with Special Needs
• Over 200 schools nationwide & after school groups in disadvantaged areas will benefit from this resource
• The Myths & Legends will be done in storytelling & through Irish, allowing primary aged children learn their language with the assistance of Audio
• Science, Engineering, Bio Diversity & History will be delivered by professionals in each field
• Practical workshops will accompany all subject matter
• Children’s Hope Internet Television is in its infancy and will be continuously developed ensuring it is a sustainable project
• This will be the first of its kind in Ireland.
• Children’s Hope has partnered with the Higher Education Authority (HEANET) to provide this facility on the new and far superior Internet 2. We have been fortunate that this hosting is being donated free of charge. 
• Using this technology allows us also to provide LIVE and INTERACTIVE classes to schools and groups around the country and to our friends around the world. This facility will enable Children’s Hope to have experts in every field from anywhere in the world connect and educate children.

THE FUTURE

Over the next 5 years Children’s Hope plans to get a building where we can have dedicated rooms in which we can provide our projects. There is a critical shortage of space in the disadvantaged areas and therefore this hinders our ability to provide the very best knowledge based activities to the children. This building will house Science Labs, Music Room & Studio, Engineering Room, Media Space, Cookery Classroom, and Computer Room/Digital Hub with outdoor gardens that can be a constant source of learning including growing their own vegetables to bring in and use in for Cookery Class. The need for such a building in this part of Dublin is of the utmost importance and will be a life line to so many communities. It is from this building that we can establish a functioning Internet Television Station.
